NPR's Weekend Edition to Interview Amanda McBroom Tomorrow
NPR's Weekend Edition Saturday host, Peabody Award winning journalist, Scott Simon, will interview Golden Globe winning songwriter, concert artist and actress, Amanda McBroom, tomorrow, Saturday July 1st.
In NYC, the show can be heard on WNYC at 8am on 93.9 FM and AM 820. You can also tune in on your computer or iPhone for the stream. They'll talk about McBroom's new recording, voices, on Gecko Records.
McBroom is a beloved presence on the cabaret concert scene, and her original songs have been recorded or performed by a wide variety of artists, including Kurt Cobain, Amy Poehler and Jack Black, Barbara Cook, Judy Collins, Manhattan Transfer and Barry Manilow.
Simon's weekly show, Weekend Edition Saturday, has been called by the Washington Post "the most literate, witty, moving, and just plain interesting news show on any dial," and by Brett Martin of Time-Out New York "the most eclectic, intelligent two hours of broadcasting on the airwaves."
