Birdland Jazz Club is proud to present Ms. Lisa Fischer for THREE NIGHTS ONLY, this weekend, April 23-25, 2015.

After years of touring with The Rolling Stones, Sting, Chris Botti, Tina Turner, Chaka Khan, Beyonce, Dionne Warwick, Dolly Parton, Alicia Keyes, Aretha Franklin, Nine Inch Nails, and many others, vocalist Lisa Fischer's life often seems like an endless shuffle between planes, trains, and automobiles.

But despite her astonishing range, perfect intonation, her mastery of the stage -- not to mention a memorable Grammy Award tie with Patti LaBelle or millions of YouTube views for her duet with Mick Jagger on "Gimme Shelter" -- her name was rarely if ever on the marquee. That is, until Morgan Neville's Oscar-winning 2013 documentary "Twenty Feet from Stardom," finally turned the spotlight on Lisa, Darlene Love, Merry Clayton, and other legendary backing vocalists.

Now, Ms. Lisa Fischer and her band Grand Baton are in demand at concert halls and clubs around the world. It's an exciting new chapter for an artist who had early career success but eschewed the trappings of celebrity in favor of the satisfaction of making honest music every night. But some things will never change, the sweetness of her smile, her visible pleasure in watching her bandmates, the glamorous-girl-next-door quality that make fans all over the world think she's their own secret discovery.

Ms. Lisa Fischer will perform at Birdland Jazz Club for a limited time from April 23-25 at 8:30 & 11:00pm. More info can be found on her website: http://lisafischermusic.com/. Tickets: $50 cover, $10 food/drink minimum. For tickets and more information, visit www.birdlandjazz.com. For more information and reservations call 212-581-3080.

Named for alto saxophonist and jazz pioneer Charlie "Bird" Parker who dubbed it "The Jazz Corner of the World,"Birdland opened on December 15th 1949. For 60 years it has been home to jazz legends, from Parker, John Coltrane Duke Ellington and Count Basie to Oscar Peterson, Hank Jones, Diana Krall and everyone in between. The modern incarnation is a state of the art nightclub featuring award winning Southern and Cajun cuisine, first rate sound and lighting and a who's who of contemporary musical artists, 7 nights a week.
