MIGHTY REAL's Anthony Wayne to Make NY Solo Cabaret Debut at The Met Room

Anthony Wayne (Mighty Real: A Fabulous Sylvester Musical, Broadway's Pippin, Anything Goes, Priscilla Queen of the Desert) will make his New York City solo cabaret debut later this month in THE EVOLUTION OF Anthony Wayne, which will be performed on Friday, June 30th at 9:30 pm at the Metropolitan Room (34 West 22nd Street, NYC). Having created his opportunity to step out of the chorus line in Mighty Real, Anthony Wayne now steps into the spotlight as himself in an eclectic evening of song covering everything from Broadway to R&B to Funk. Featuring songs by artists from Stephen Sondheim and Stephen Schwartz to Burt Bacharach, Katy Perry and Michael Jackson, Wayne (who will celebrate his birthday on June 30th) will take the audience on an inspirational, evolutionary journey that's totally fresh ... and "Fabulous."

Anthony Wayne has received critical acclaim for creating the title role in Mighty Real: A Fabulous Sylvester Musical. He has appeared on Broadway in the Tony Award-winning revivals of Pippin and Anything Goes, as well as in Priscilla Queen of the Desert. On tour, he has appeared in A Chorus Line, The Color Purple, and Fame - The Musical. Mr. Wayne was featured as one of Out magazine's "Out 100" in 2014. Along with Kendrell Bowman, Anthony is a founder of the Production Company AnthonyKen LLC, and the duo are the creators and producers of both Mighty Real: A Fabulous Sylvester Musical and An Evening with Phyllis Hyman.
