Liz McCartney, Lilla Crawford And More Join UNSUNG STROUSE At Feinstein's/54 Below

As previously announced, Feinstein's/54 Below will proudly present an evening of trunk songs by one of America's most celebrated composers, Charles Strouse, on Sunday, May 13th at 7:00pm. The one-night-only concert will salute the three-time Tony Award-winner with some of his best trunk songs, featuring material cut from some of his hit musicals, as well as songs that have never found their way to the stage, including numbers from the never completed Star Wars musical. Joining the starry ensemble are Broadway's Liz McCartney (My Fair Lady, Annie, Sunday In The Park With George) and Lilla Crawford (Annie, Into the Woods).

The legendary composer Charles Strouse, celebrating his 90th birthday year, is one of America's most acclaimed musical theater composers. A three-time Tony Award-winner, Strouse's music has touched the life of almost every American in the last half century. From the classic "Once Upon a Time" to the rocking score of Bye, Bye, Birdie (Tony Award), his celebrated songs are an essential part of the American songbook. Strouse's Broadway musicals also include Applause (Tony Award), Annie (Tony Award), Golden Boy (Tony nomination), Nick and Nora, It's A Bird...It's A Plane...It's Superman (Tony nomination), Rags, and more. Strouse's song "Those Were the Days," one of the most popular television themes of all time, launched over 200 episodes of "All in the Family", memorably featuring Carroll O'Connor and Jean Stapleton singing the song from behind their spinet. The Three-time Tony-winner will be on hand to meet fans and sign copies of his memoir, Put On A Happy Face, following the performance. Part of a year-long celebration of composer Charles Strouse's 90th birthday, this special event gives audiences the rare opportunity to hear this enchanting score.

The starry cast features Broadway's original Eve Harrington, Penny Fuller (Applause, A New Brain, Sunday In The Park With George), and performances by David Cryer (1776, Evita, Phantom of the Opera), Britt Cryer (The Desert Song, Shelter), Golden Globe Award-winner Jill Eikenberry (L.A. Law, Enter Laughing), Alan H. Green (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Play On, Sister Act), Adam Heller (Rags, A Letter To Harvey Milk, It Should Been You), Tony Award-winner Beth Leavel (Minsky's, Bandstand, The Drowsy Chaperone), Helen Hayes Award-winner Patti Mariano (The Music Man, 42nd Street, The Full Monty, I Had a Ball, George M!), Samantha Massell (Rags, Fiddler On The Roof), Liz McCartney (Taboo, Annie, Sunday In The Park With George), Lori Brown Mirabal (Show Boat, Bubblin' Brown Sugar), Alexa Shae Niziak (A Christmas Story, Matilda), Joseph Allen (Be More Chill), Carly Sakolove (Newsical) and Lucas Schultz (Mary Poppins, A Christmas Story). Also appearing in the concert are Eugenia Copeland, Thomas Dieter, Julia DeSimone, Suzanne Dressler, Kimberly Faye Greenberg (One Night With Fanny Brice), Steven Carl McCasland, Keira Moynahan and Megan Moynahan.

The evening is presented by the team behind the popular Second Act Series who brought Onward Victoria, Charlie and Algernon, 70, Girls, 70, Nick & Nora, Shelter starring Jon Cryer, Charlotte Sweet, Bring Back Birdie, Henry, Sweet Henry, Eating Raoul and more back to New York's cabaret stages with Musical Direction by James Horan and Direction by Steven Carl McCasland.
