Little Death, a new musical performance conceived by and starring the Nightlife, MAC and Bistro Award winner Karen Kohler world premieres at the Zipper Factory on October 8. Directed by John-Richard Thompson Little Death "blurs the line between sex and death" in two companion shows that alternate on four consecutive Wednesdays. Sex plays October 8 and 22, while Death bows on October 15 and 29.

Backed by a five-piece ensemble, Kohler sings in five languages as she crossbreeds a decadent range of theatrical and musical influences, everything from jazz, Delta blues, classical, rock-folk and cabaret. Using the words and music of composers as varied as Purcell, Leonard Cohen, Cole Porter and Tom Waits, "Little Death" shows us how sex and death are distinct, the same and totally inevitable. Tickets are $25 and $40 and are available by phone at 212/352-3101, or online at www.thezipperfactory.com.
