Lea Delaria Leads Pride Parade Before Her Cabaret Debut at Ravinia

Comedian, actress, and jazz musician Lea DeLaria will lead off Chicago's 48th annual Pride Parade, starting at noon Sunday, June 25, at the intersection of Broadway and Montrose, before heading to her Ravinia Festival debut in the Martin Theatre.
The cabaret show "Lea DeLaria: An Evening of Comedy and Music" marks Ravinia's first 18-and-over performance. Delaria, who plays Carrie "Big Boo" Black on Orange Is the New Black, is expected to mingle with the crowd before the parade kicks off, handing out a limited number of free tickets to her Ravinia concert.
Ravinia Festival President and CEO Welz Kauffman and staff will man the second vehicle in the parade, following the Grand Marshal, and handing out T-shirts, tank tops, hats, and more-themed with its "Listen to Love" campaign.
Recognized as the first openly gay comedian to appear on a late-night television talk show (1993's Aresenio), the Belleville, IL, native was also featured in Cars 3 and Edge of Seventeen.
