From sidewalk busker to fashion model to guitar goddess, performance artist Mrs. Smith is shredding her way up from the streets of NYC to her upcoming show at Le Poisson Rouge (LPR) on March 7, 2017, (7:00 p.m. doors, 8:00 p.m. show). Mrs. Smith's LPR debut-also featuring her band, The Rage-comes on the heels of her appearance in a digital short for GUCCI eyewear that is conceived and directed by model / photographer Petra Collins.

"I met her in Tompkins Square Park in New York," Collins explains in Italian Vogue. "She was busking and I was completely at awe." Shot over three days in Budapest, the surreal film culminates in a scene shot at Gellert Thermal Baths with Mrs. Smith playing her guitar while standing on the water.

"Please don't call me a fashion icon," says the (sometimes) demure Mrs. Smith. "It was Petra and the brilliant designers at GUCCI that made all that magic I just flailed around with my guitar like I normally do!"

Accolades for Mrs. Smith have been building of late: she was crowned winner of the "Shred for Your Life" contest at Webster Hall, performed to a sold-out audience at Joe's Pub in January, and a video of her shredding on the sidewalks of NYC garnered 1.2 million views and cemented her as a legit guitar hero.

At the LPR show, Mrs Smith and The Rage will sonically delve into the traumatic life events that have made her the guitar virtuoso she is today. From her Little House on the Prairie-style childhood to her kidnapping at the hands of a Norwegian Death Metal band, Mrs Smith will leave no stone unturned and no note unplayed. Featuring the music of ABBA, Prince, Jimi Hendrix, Taylor Swift, Van Halen, Sia, and Metallica, among others.

"Le Poisson Rouge is excited to play host to Mrs. Smith and The Rage for "While My Guitar Gently Shrieks," says Brianne Sperber, LPR's Marketing Director. "Coming off of their recent sold-out-performance at Joe's Pub, this show is an electrifying and hilarious one-two musical comedy punch that melds together the venue's eclectic offerings into one night."

Tickets for Mrs. Smith at LPR are $20.00 for seating and $15.00 for standing room, and are available online here.
