Actor/composer LPfunK showcases his original rock-theatre piece, Ithaca: A Perpetual Shredfest, at Joe's Pub on Monday, September 28th at 7:30 p.m.

Ithaca follows the journey of a group of friends in their early twenties, living in late 1990's New York City with a blissfully positive view of a world with seemingly endless potential; a thriving economy set in motion by advancements in digital technology and the internet boom... but ten years down the road, their world has evolved into a very different place.

Ithaca is a sonic exploration of raging parties, scenic road trips, and unconditional love affairs in the first decade of the 21st century. It celebrates the magical state of never growing old and never having to grow up, through a dynamic series of instrumental movements and catchy rock songs performed by a live band featuring LPfunK (guitar, lead vocals),?Deborah C. Smith (bass, vocals), Jason Gilbert (drums), Liz Hanley (violin, vocals),?and Leyla McCalla (cello, vocals).

The Joe's Pub engagement isn't Ithaca's first outing, as it was previously developed and performed at ARS Nova, as well as Mercury Lounge, Sputnik, and the Rudyard Kipling in Louisville, KY.

LPfunK (a.k.a. Lucas Papaelias) has acted in, and composed music for, Broadway's Cyrano de Bergerac, Suzan-Lori Parks' Father Comes Home From the Wars at the Public, and Adam Rapp's Essential Self-Defense at Playwrights' Horizons. He also appeared in the movie "School of Rock" alongside Jack Black.

Tickets to Ithaca are $12.50. For tickets, visit www.joespub.com or call (212) 967-7555. Joe's Pub is located within the Public Theater at 425 Lafayette Street off Astor Place.
