KT Sullivan and Mark Nadler to Make Merry in New Year's Eve Show at Pangea

Two of cabaret's favorite and most-acclaimed merrymakers - KT Sullivan and Mark Nadler - are coming together to headline New Year's Eve at Pangea this year. The special double-decker night of excitement, which Sullivan and Nadler promise will raise your spirits while they raise our little roof, consists of an early show at 8pm and a late show at 10:30pm.

Both shows are generously priced -- at $125 for the early show and $165 for the late show. The evening includes, in both cases, a delicious 3-course dinner, and a half-bottle of Cava per person. Tax and gratuity are inclusive. (Additional beverages are not included, and are billed separately with 18% gratuity added.)

Sullivan and Nadler have traveled the high seas together performing numerous acclaimed and award-winning concept shows, which explore and illuminate the oeuvres of individual songwriters. According to The NY Times, "They deliver songs both famous and obscure in a delirious whoosh of lubricious exuberance." On New Year's Eve they will dip liberally into their seemingly bottomless repertoire to concoct a never-before-mixed cocktail to help us transition into the new year.

The duo, who for years were a mainstay at the Algonquin Hotel's famous Oak Room, have created acclaimed shows celebrating such popular music icons as Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, Betty Comden & Adolph Green, George Gershwin, Dorothy Fields, Stephen Sondheim, and Jule Styne. Their award-winning revues include their Valentine to George Gershwin, "American Rhapsody;" "Always: The Love Story of Irving Berlin," and "A Swell Party: RSVP Cole Porter..." Their current joint endeavor celebrates Alan Jay Lerner.

Nadler wraps up his current year-long, extended engagement of once-monthly shows at Pangea on Saturday December 17. As for Sullivan - the artistic director since 2012 of the Mabel Mercer Foundation (producer of the annual Cabaret Convention) -- The NY Times once dished that she is "the cabaret equivalent of whipped cream atop a surprisingly nutritious dessert." What more can one say?! Well actually Rex Reed adds, in The NY Observer, that Nadler (or "Mr. Show Business" according to Stephen Holden), "pulls more rabbits out of a hat than the teenage Houdini. Talented and fearless, he never runs out of fresh ideas."

Pangea, which Stephen Holden recently called "a bohemian oasis not unlike the fabled Max's Kansas City from days gone by," has been programming music and performance since January 2015.
