Funny lady Joan Jaffe hits the spotlight at 2009 MAC nominated Algonquin Salon "I Remember It Well!" Sunday, May 24, 2009 A trip down memory lane with Joan Jaffe, co-host Hal Blankenship & surprise open-mic guests (created by musical director Marc Janas and produced by Peter Napolitano.)

Good news for the city that never sleeps! The fun starts when popular musical comic Joan Jaffe (who never sleeps!) hosts The Algonquin's Salon Series (59 West 44th St. between 5th & 6th Avenues) on Sunday, May 24th along with co-host Hal Blankenship. She joins producer Peter Napolitano and creator/musical director Marc Janas for a very special evening. Sign-up to sing begins at 6:30 (show time 7:00 -10:00-ish). No cover. No minimum.

Joan Jaffe has understudied some of the theater's "healthiest" women. She and husband Hal Blankenship were recently featured as Burt and Lizzie in the award winning film "The Savages." starring Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Laura Linney. She has also been featured in Disney's "Enchanted," "Approaching Union Square" and "The Producers." She has appeared on Broadway in "Much Ado About Nothing" and "Bajour." Off-Broadway, she was seen in "Trophy Wife," "The George M. Cohan Revue" and "Yankee Doodle Boy." On television, she has appeared on "Saturday Night Live,""Late Night With Conan O'Brien" and Comedy Central .

Ms.Jaffe and sidekick husband Hal Blankenship have brought their cabaret act (The Joan & Hal show) to venues around the country with critical success including the legendary Friar's Club. The show will be directed by Hal Blankenship with acclaimed musical director Jerry Scott.
The show focuses on mostly funny songs and banter with four outstanding comic songs written by award winning songwriter Francesca Blumenthal as well as one by Allan Arkin and some sassy rarities that only Joan could pull off.

Hal Blankenship is known as an oxymoron. He is a working actor with extensive Off-Broadway experience in tours and regional theaters in many shows including, "Annie Get Your Gun," "Gigi," "Cat On A Hot Tin Roof" and "Gin Game."
