Composer/author Jay Alan Zimmerman, aka "Broadway's Beethoven" (INCREDIBLY DEAF MUSICAL, The Duke on 42, NYMF 2010), debuts a new musical comedy, SMOKIN'! at The Duplex June 29th at 7pm. Directed by Anthony J. Cantalupo (Damon Intrabartolo's PLOP) and featuring Traci Bair, Schuyler Beeman, David Errigo, Melissa Mitchell, and Jason Reiff, this jazz-influenced musical tells the story of a sexy guy who seems to have it all - a warm and loving wife, a dynamite personality that people flock to, and a high paying job that forever keeps his bank account out of the red. But he wants more than that, and he'll have to convince a lot of people in order to get it, including his wife, his girlfriend, his girlfriend's boyfriend, and um, her boyfriend's boyfriend. It's a hot new musical that humorously explores how complicated and volatile relationships often end up exploding into a burst of smoke.

Reservations to SMOKIN'! are available by calling The Duplex or online at
http://www.theduplex.com/webcalendar/view_entry.php?id=5966&date=20110629
There is a two drink minimum and $10 cover charge with a reservation (or $15 at the door).

Please note: Despite the title of the show, The Duplex must enforce its non smoking policy in the venue (after all it's illegal and we are allergic). However, drinking, clapping, and laughing are encouraged, and perhaps stripping if you're so inclined.

Jay Alan Zimmerman is composer/author of several musicals including his INCREDIBLY DEAF MUSICAL (O'Neill Center finalist, The Duke on 42nd St./NYMF 2010), MY CAFÉ CINDERELLA (Arts & Artists), THE MADNESS CHANNEL, and the award-winning short film musicals PAWNS and LOVE BURNS.
