Daryl Glenn & Nellie McKay to Sing Robert Altman's POPEYE at Feinstein's/54 Below

FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presents: Daryl Glenn and Nellie McKay singing RobertAltman's Popeye. Together at last, Daryl ("Daryl Glenn & Jo Lynn Burks sing Robert Altman's Nashville", "Darylsings Steve: Songs by Sondheim") and Nellie (The Threepenny Opera on Broadway, "A Girl Named Bill: The Life andTimes of Billy Tipton") perform the songs from Robert Altman's notorious 1980 movie musical Popeye. The quirky yet glorious score is by legendary singer/songwriter Harry Nilsson ("Everybody's Talkin'") and features the beloved tune,"He Needs Me". With musical directors Karen Dryer, Ben McNaboe and very special guest stars Jay Rogers and Lennie Watts it's a fun-filled, joyous evening not to be missed.

Daryl Glennis an award winning performer who has performed internationally in musical theatre and has appeared onthe stages of New York's most famous cabaret venues including Don't Tell Mama, The Triad, Iridium Jazz Club, The Metropolitan Room and Feinstein's at the Loews Regency Hotel and more recently at Feinsteins/54 Below in his ownfull length productions. Mr. Glenn (with his costar Jo Lynn Burks) is best known for his "Triple Crown" (MAC, Bistroand Nightlife awards) winning tribute to Robert Altman's classic 1975 film Nashville, which was Mr. Glenn's NYcabaret debut and the first ever to win all three coveted awards (MAC, Bistro and NiteLife) for a single show. Daryl presented a highly regarded tribute to Stephen Sondheim (Daryl Sings Steve: Songs By Sondheim) on the occasion of Mr. Sondheim's 80th birthday.

Nellie has released six full-length albums, including "Pretty Little Head," "Obligatory Villagers" and "Normal asBlueberry Pie." She has won a Theatre World Award for her portrayal of Polly Peachum in the Broadway production of The Threepenny Opera and performed onscreen in the films PS I Love You and Downtown Express, as well as writing original music for the Rob Reiner film Rumor Has It and contributing to the Emmy-winning documentary, Gasland.
