CHICAGO Star Bianca Marroquin Debuts At The Green Room 42 With New Show
THE GREEN ROOM 42 will present Bianca Marroquin in her new concert "Solo Pido (All I Ask)" on Wednesday, October 10 at 8:00 PM. Marroquin returns to star as Roxie Hart in Broadway's Chicago opposite Cuba Gooding, Jr. on October 6. Her show follows her journey as innocent little girl from Mexico to the world of show business. Through many obstacles, challenges and lessons, Bianca discovers that the only constant thing in life is change and we have to constantly evolve in order to survive. The evening features music from Chicago, West Side Story, and A Chorus Line, to Alicia Keys, Alice Smith and The Police. Joining her on stage are dancers from Chicago and A Chorus Line, as well as seven musicians led by Musical Director Thomas Gallaher.
Bianca Marroquin, currently a judge for the current season on Univision TV's reality competition "Bailando por un Sueño," also originated the role of "Carmen" in the Broadway revival of The Pajama Game with Harry Connick, Jr. and also portrayed "Anita" in Carnegie Hall's 125th Anniversary celebration production of West Side Story. She received the Helen Hayes Award as "Outstanding Lead Actress" in 2004. She performed lead roles in the Broadway tours in Mexico City of Mary Poppins, The Sound of Music, Rent, The Phantom of the Opera, and Beauty & The Beast. Her debut solo album, El Mundo Era Mío (The World Was Mine) was released in 2014. Featuring five original songs, the recording is a mix of contemporary pop and Latin influences.
