Broadway's Peggi Blu to Perform SINATRA IN BLU at the Triad Theatre

On Sunday, December 3rdth at 8:00 pm Lee Summers' 'Just A Piano' Concert Series presents Broadway's Peggi Blu in a return to the Triad Theatre, 158 West 72nd Street. In Sinatra in Blu, Ms. Blu demonstrates her gospel/soulful beginnings; her Broadway brilliance and Recording Artist chops in a virtuosic evening of classic song and story telling. Paying tribute to the hits of the great Frank Sinatra, Blu asks, "How might Frank Sinatra's hits have sounded had he been born a Black woman - named Peggi Blu?" In Sinatra in Blu we are taken on a glorious ride through The American Songbook. Sinatra in Blu features Skip Brevis on piano with special guests, Charles Valentino and Ty Stephens.

Ms. Blu has performed in countless On and Off Broadway and Regional shows, including The Wiz, Marilyn: An American Fable and the Michael Jackson-produced, Sisterella. Artists with whom Ms. Blu has worked include: Bob Dylan, Barbara Streisand, Burt Bacharach, Edwin Hawkins, The Staples Singers, The Clark Sisters, Quincy Jones, Adam Sandler, Stevie Wonder, Barry Manilow, Luther Vandross, Phyllis Hyman, Alice Cooper, Aaron Neville, Stephanie Mills, Melissa Manchester, David Foster and Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers, just to name a few.

Movie soundtracks as a vocalist and/or vocal arranger include: "Set It Off" with Queen Latifah and Jada PinkettA. Smith, "The Hurricane" starring Denzel Washington, "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry" starring Adam Sandler, "Fame" with Irene Cara and many more. In the 80's, Ms. Blu won $100,000 as "Female Vocalist Grand Champion" of Star Search. Presently, paying it forward to a new generation of singers, Ms. Blu is known today by television-viewers worldwide as American Idol's "Vocal Coach From Hell!"
