Broadway Sessions Welcomes Colman Domingo, The Cure & More 9/22
Broadway Sessions is thrilled to welcome 'Passing Strange' star Colman Domingo September 22nd. Also performing will be the cast of NYMF musical 'The Cure' and singer Shawn Murphy.
Colman Domingo made his Broadway debut in the Tony and Obie winning musical 'Passing Strange'. Mister Domingo replaced Orlando Jones in the title role in 'The Wiz' this summer at Encores! Summer Stars series. He is a cast member on LOGO TV's 'The BIg Gay Sketch Show'. Currently Mr. Domingo is starring in 'A Boy and his Soul', an autobiographical tale written by Domingo, at the Vineyard Theater. ' A Boy and his Soul' opens September 24th.
'The Cure', a rock n' roll vampire fable, will open as part of The New York Musical Theater Festival September 29th at The American Theater of Actors. The cast features Broadway veterans Gregg Goodbrod, Michael Buchanan, Zac Resnick and Manu Naroyan. 'The Cure' is written by Mark Weiser and features direction by Elizabeth Lucas.
Shawn Murphy has performed in various regional productions, performed as a finalist at The Apollo and currently plays with his up and coming band 'The FlipSide'. 'FlipSide' recently completed it's first album entitled 'Bumpy Road'.
Broadway Sessions w/ Ben D is described as an evening of music, games and comedy featuring a new Broadway guest each week. It is hosted by actor Ben Cameron (Wicked, Aida, Footloose). Broadway Sessions takes place every Tuesday evening at 11 pm at midtown nightclub Therapy (348 west 52nd street). There is no cover charge for this event.
