Broadway Meets Sketch Comedy in New Show SHIZ

On Monday, April 9th at 8pm, your favorite musical theater characters find themselves smack in the middle of sketches in this Broadway-meets-comedy mash-up show, written by UCB and The PIT's finest and featuring actors from the casts of Fun Home, Book of Mormon, Great Comet and more. Imagine if the Tonys were hijacked by SNL. SHIZ gives classic moments from musicals an irreverent mind of their own. Watch Elphaba and Javert get thrown unexpected curveballs and belt their way out. Shiz is a love letter to Broadway with a few notes scribbled in the margins. No parody lyrics, only parody riffs.

The PIT hosts SHIZ: a $20 comedy show conceived by spouses Shaina Taub (Old Hats, Lortel Nom: Great Comet) and Matt Gehring (The Tick, Comedy Central). It's the best way to spend Broadway's dark night. It features performances from Joel Perez (Upcoming: Jesus Christ Superstar Live! with John Legend , Broadway: Fun Home), Kuhoo Verma (The Big Sick), Miles Jacoby (Broadway: Book of Mormon), Rachel Wenitsky (Reductress), Fernando Contreres (Ghost the Musical), Nicole Weiss (Folk Wandering). The show features writing from Max Ash (Beeng Boong/UCB), Matt Gehring, Samantha Martin (Nickelodeon), Natalie Walker (Search Party). Music direction by 2018 Larson Grant winner, Mark Sonnenblick.
