Bay Area Cabaret is thrilled to present its fifth Bay Area Teen Idol vocal competition, showcasing 12 of the Bay Area's most talented high school students. At 3 pm on Sunday, April 28, those 12 young singers will perform in the Fairmont San Francisco's legendary Venetian Room for a panel of experts and have the chance to earn cash and performance prizes. Hosting the event will be Bay Area native and Tony Award nominee Adam Jacobs.

The winners of Bay Area Teen Idol will be chosen by a combination of audience and judges' votes.

This year's finalists are: Hannah Bautista (South San Francisco High), Anika Goel (Irvington High School), Arriana Glenn (Campolindo High School), Benjamin Tripp (San Francisco University High School), Aiyana Greene (Ruth Asawa School of the Arts), Lyle Belger (Redwood High School), Kalyani Srikanth (Campolindo High School), Cole Sisser (Ruth Asawa School of the Arts), Bella Cvengros (Tamalpais High School), Isabella Kaplan (San Domenico High School), Sophie Egan (Convent of the Sacred Heart) and Lili Gibson (Redwood High School).

Celebrity Host and Broadway star Adam Jacobs has a special affinity for the local teens performing for Bay Area Teen Idol. As a Bay Area native who began as a young child performing locally, Adam could very well have been one of the teens onstage. Originally from Half Moon Bay, Adam began his early performing career as a pianist studying at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. After playing for 8 years (ages 5-13), he decided to forgo the concert pianist route and try something new. He found his artistic outlet through art classes and musical theater at St. Ignatius College Prep and the ACT Young Conservatory. Adam's big break was the opportunity to play "Marius" in the national tour of Les Miserables. Since then, he has journeyed from the islands of Mamma Mia! to the African pride lands of The Lion King to the tropics of Once On This Island to the Arabian deserts of Disney's Aladdin-his signature role which he originated on Broadway and performed in San Francisco. Tickets to Bay Area Teen Idol 2019 are $25 general, $10 Youth (18 and under). A limited number of Premium reserved seats are $55, Information and tickets are available at www.bayareacabaret.org or by phone at City Box Office (415) 392-4400. Bay Area Teen Idol is a program of Bay Area Cabaret, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Ticket sales cover less than half the cost of hosting this community outreach event.

Bay Area Cabaret, now in its 15th season of presenting world-renowned Broadway, pop and jazz vocalists, marks its eighth consecutive season in San Francisco's legendary showroom, the Venetian Room, at the historic Fairmont San Francisco. The 2018-2019 season concludes on May 19 with the debut of Tony Award nominee Melissa Errico, in a tribute to her mentor, the late Michel Legrand.
