Baby Jane Premieres THE REAL WORLD At The Met Room 11/26

Real deal Baby Jane Dexter premieres an all-new show, "The Real World," at the Metropolitan Room, 34 West 22nd Street, on Friday November 26 at 7:30pm. In eight shows on four consecutive Fridays and Saturdays through December 18, Baby Jane shares the stage with music director Ross Patterson on piano. "The Real World's" exclusive 4-week engagement plays through Saturday December 18. All shows are at 7:30pm.

With an eclectic song list including gems by Billie Holiday, Janis Ian, Roy Orbison, John Sebastian, and Alec Wilder among others, "The Real World" gives Baby Jane wide berth to explain how she likes to keep it real. As always, she challenges herself and her audience as much as she inspires and entertains. Baby Jane muses, "With this new show, I was reminded of a favorite saying from Winston Churchill, "Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts."

Writing in The New York Times, Stephen Holden said, "The phrase 'keeping it real,' and all that it suggests certainly applies to Baby Jane Dexter, a longtime cabaret performer whose booming pop contralto is one of the more formidable voices on the New York nightclub stage." Additionally, Jazz Times Magazine pronounced, "Dexter's brand of entertainment is arguably the most compellingly, refreshingly honest there is."

Crafting this show with Baby Jane are her longtime arranger and musical director, the Back Stage Bistro Award-winning Ross Patterson, and the Emmy-winning Elissa Patterson as consulting director.

Baby Jane's "The Real World" performs eight times on four consecutive Fridays and Saturdays as follows: Friday & Saturday November 26 & 27; December 3 & 4; December 10 & 11, and December 17 & 18.
