NEW YORK, Aug.19, 2013 - Vacation like a royal on the Isle of Anglesey where William and Kate, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, have spent the first two years of their marriage. The island's scenery, budding culinary scene, and traditional Welsh hospitality have charmed the couple. "Catherine and I look forward to returning again and again over the coming years with our family," said the Duke of Cambridge speaking of Anglesey in a speech yesterday announcing their pending move to Kensington Palace. Travelers can follow in the couple's footsteps in Wales with these five Anglesey experiences for royal enthusiasts:
On August 14 th, 2013 Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, attended the Anglesey Show, an agricultural event in North Wales, during his first public appearance since the birth of his son. He described living on the island: "I know that I speak for Catherine when I say that I have never in my life known somewhere as beautiful and as welcoming as Anglesey. The views across the Menai Straits are undoubtedly among the most stunning in the British Isles." He added, "From the bottom of my heart, thank you for making my wife and me so welcome when we arrived here, as you do thousands of visitors each year."
