These new markets increase the total number of nonstop destinations from Orlando Sanford offered by Allegiant from 43 to 52. With this 20% increase Allegiant will fly nonstop to more cities than any airline from any airport in Central Florida.

In conjunction with this expansion, Allegiant will introduce a new aircraft type to their fleet operating from Orlando Sanford. The 177-seat Airbus A320 will be added to their current fleet of 166-seat MD-80 aircraft later this fall. The A320s are quieter and more fuel efficient than MD-80s, as well as can operate off shorter runways at other airports and fly nonstop to nearly any city in the continental U.S. from SFB.
