Caribbean Travel Sites Announce New Hotel Discounts

By: Mar. 16, 2013

Financial Firebird Corporation's Travel Group introduced a new module for many of its island guide sites to aid travelers in finding great prices on accommodations. Today's announcement specifically pertains to the hotel directory pages in the travel guides for St. Thomas and St. Croix in the USVI, Tortola in the BVI and St. Kitts with many more islands to follow in the near future.

The module, created in conjunction with software from the Cheap Deal Hotel site, resembles a standard static 468x60 ad on top of the large selection of hotels for the particular island. In reality the viewer looks a two dynamic 234x60 interactive text displays. On one side the system tries to find the lowest price offered for accommodations. On the other side the program attempts to output the hotel offering the greatest savings compared to its standard rack rate. Particularly for the St. Thomas Hotels site, the system often suggests condos rented nightly like a hotel which may offer a great deal more room to spread out in addition to pricing cheaper than a hotel. On the island travel guides the accommodations types each appear on their own pages with separate areas for hotels, condos for rent, villas and B&Bs or small inns.

Whenever able, the guide offers a brief description of the accommodations, a star and dollar rating, and link to book the hotel online and a link to the home page of the establishment directly. While this may sound fairly standard, an experienced traveler will quickly observe that these pages, such as the one for St. Croix Hotels, list a number of options not available through typical online booking agencies. Often these choices provide cheaper prices or a more local cultural excursion. It's also most common for guides offering online reservations to never provide a user with the link to the hotel's own home page. Financial Firebird feels offering this information makes for a better user experience by offering everything a traveler may be looking for.

In addition to a full directory of accommodations on the islands, the travel guides offer a complete list of tourist ideas in about 50 categories and many specialized articles on top of that. Other topics include activities, restaurants, financial services, shopping, weddings and more. If a trip to the Caribbean looks like a destination to explore be sure to start planning with the Financial Firebird Travel Guide for the island of your favorite tropical hideaway.
