Many people are intimidated by the very word "opera", yet would love to know more. IF University will team with Louisville writer and speaker Thomson Smillie to pull back the curtain on the complexity and meaning of opera. We'll delve into the music, the maestros, and the masterpieces and have fun learning the basics of the four hundred year-old art form.

This will be a fun and entertaining evening at one of Louisville's most unique entertainment venues: The Bard's Town. The Greek-American soprano Maria Callas said "an opera begins long before the curtain goes up and ends long after it has come down." IF University invites you to begin your experience of opera here.

The event is set for today, February 27, 2013, at The Bard's Town (1801 Bardstown Rd in the Highlands) from 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Cost: $15.99 (includes admission and one complimentary drink ticket including tax/gratuity). Advance booking needed: online at www.eventbrite.com/event/5320987216.
