Opera Columbus continues its innovative Opera on The Edge program in the 2016-17 season, presenting an hour-long, abridged, English-language adaptation of Giacomo Puccini's La Bohème. Opera on The Edge performances are designed to provide an introduction to opera for those who have no experience with the art form or who may not be inclined to attend a traditional opera performance in a theatre.

Opera Columbus' Opera on The Edge presents a modern take on one of the most popular operas of all time, Puccini's La Bohème. Experience the passionate and stormy relationship between the penniless Rodolfo and Mimi through the vision of librettist Joel Ivany, specially engaged by Opera Columbus for this intimate production. Directed by Shadowbox Live's Stev Guyer, cast with emerging artists and local performers, and performed in English, this modern and emotional production pushes the boundaries of opera and how it relates to our fast-paced world.
