By: May. 03, 2010

In this evening's performance of Wagner's Der Fliegende Holländer, Lori Phillips will make her Met debut as Senta, replacing Deborah Voigt, who is ill.

Lori Phillips has previously sung the role of Senta with the Washington National Opera in her 2008 company debut. With New York City Opera, she appeared in the title roles of Turandot and Madama Butterfly. Phillips has sung with numerous other companies both in the U.S. and abroad, including Dallas Opera, Seattle Opera, Vancouver Opera, Opéra de Québec, L'Opéra de Nice and the Paris Opera on tour in Japan.

Der Fliegende Holländer, conducted by Kazushi Ono, stars Juha Uusitalo in the title role, Stephan Gould as Erik, and Hans-Peter König as Daland.
