Met Opera Performances of Verdi's REQUIEM Dedicated to Dmitri Hvorostovsky

The Metropolitan Opera's performances of Verdi's Requiem, beginning this Friday, November 24, will be dedicated to the memory of Dmitri Hvorostovsky. The Russian baritone passed away last night on November 21 at age 55 after a battle with brain cancer.

Dmitri was a beloved figure at the company giving more than 180 Met performances since his debut in 1995.The Met sends deepest condolences to Dmitri's wife, Florence, and his four children, Maxim, Nina, Alexandra, and Daniel. For more information, click here.

Met Music Director Emeritus James Levine will conduct the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and Chorus with soloists Krassimira Stoyanova, Ekaterina Semenchuk, Aleksandrs Antonenko, and Ferruccio Furlanetto for four concert performances of Verdi's Requiem, on November 24, 27, 29, and December 2.
