Tickets for LA Opera's May 2014 production of A Streetcar Named Desire,starring soprano Renée Fleming, will go on sale to the general public today, October 20 at 10:00am.

Ms. Fleming will sing the iconic leading role of Blanche DuBois, a part created for her by composer André Previn in his 1998 opera, to be presented in semi-staged concert performances at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion on May 18, 21 and 24, 2014. Bass-baritone Ryan McKinny will sing the role of Stanley Kowalski, with soprano Stacey Tappan as Stella and tenor Anthony Dean Griffey as Mitch. Patrick Summers will conduct the production, to be staged by director Brad Dalton.

Tickets to A Streetcar Named Desire start at $16 and will be available for purchase beginning at 10:00am on Sunday, October 20.
