simple as water flowing."- The Washington Post Ramzy Suleiman is a pianist, vocalist, songwriter, activist and
creative troublemaker. A Washington D.C. native, Ramzy learned how to play piano as a child by transcribing Ray Charles songs by ear. After graduating from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, he and his band, Ramzy and the Newscasters embarked on a national tour in support of the release of their new album "The News Caters Home", playing from up and down the east coast to California. A persistent D.C. activist, Ramzy also delivers a message of peace and justice over top of his band's soulful groove. Among Ramzy's influences, he cites Nina Simone, Sam Cooke, Ray Charles, Charles Mingus, D'Angelo and Fela Kuti.
