Summer Walker Releases 'Last Day of Summer'

Today, critically acclaimed Atlanta songstress Summer Walker releases her full-length debut, Last Day of Summer [LVRN/Interscope Records].

She preceded the album with the buzzing singles "CPR"which racked up nearly 8 million Spotify streams and "Girls Need Love" with over 5.4 million Spotify streams. The music video for the latter eclipsed 3 million YouTube Views in under a month and surpassed 4 million to date.

Last Day of Summer represents the culmination of a breakthrough year for Summer Walker. She unassumingly started the project back in August 2017 by merging passions for R&B, soul, pop, and alternative out of a bedroom studio setup in Marietta. Summerwrote each song, handled recording, and personally engineered the project. This D.I.Y. approach caught the attention of LVRNwho promptly signed her. One step at a time, she's set the foundation for the album's release today. Summing up her rise best, Billboard recently claimed, "If's April's 'CPR' was a breakout single for R&B singer Summer Walker, 'Girls Need Love' is the song that could hurl the Atlanta native into the mainstream."

To celebrate the album's arrival, Summer will be opening for 6lack on his From East Atlanta With Love tour.

Summer Walker is quietly carving out a niche of her own. Signed to LVRN/Interscope Records, her breakout single "CPR" garnered early praise from the likes of Hypebeast to HotNewHipHop. 2018 promises to be a breakout year for this bold presence. Like the love child of Jimi Hendrix and Amy Winehouse, she brings a new fire and flavor to R&B.
