On Sunday, October 2, 2011, "Swing Dames" joins the long list of concerts presented by Les Michaels and Life Is A Cabaret at The Arthur Newman Theatre at The Joslyn Center. The show pays tribute to the legendary Andrews Sisters and features songs, costumes, and stories from their career and the state of our Nation during their popularity, especially during WWII.

Rather than take on the roles of Patty, Maxine, and Lavern, "Swing Dames" created their own group made up of 'Penny', played by Megan Johnson Briones, 'Marlene', played by Erin Bennett, and 'Lorraine', played by Gail Bianchi. The show's storyline includes songs made famous by The Andrews Sisters along with many favorites from the era by other artists as well. To complement the show's swinging choreography, Penny, Marlene, and Lorraine, will be joined by renowned pianist and musical director Andrew Van Vlear.

Show time on Sunday, October 2nd is 2 PM and the doors will open at 1 PM to purchase tickets at the box office, which are $10, each, cash only. You may call 760-325-2731 to make advance reservations and for more information. The Arthur Newman Theatre is located at 73-750 Catalina Way in Palm Desert at The Joslyn Center.
