Just one day after what would have been his 69th birthday, the fourth edition of The Rum House's Bespoke Music Series celebrates the work of the legendary Jimi Hendrix, led by a musician who shares that birthday, award-winning NYC bassist Kenball Zwerin.

The night will be the Bespoke debut of Zwerin as musical director. A much sought-after musical commodity in New York, he playsweekly at Duane Park as one of the Candy Shop Boys, as well as with The Debonairs, Gigi and Pop, and all about town. Says Kenball, "The night will take you to an Electric Ladyland, seen through Jazz-colored glasses. I can't think of a better way to celebrate the birthday I share with my lifelong rock inspiration."

An inductee into both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in the US and The UK Music Hall of Fame, and posthumous recipient of a Livetime Achievement Grammy Award, Hendrix was named one of the top guitarists of all time by Rolling Stone Magazine -- though, intriguingly, no guitar will be featured in Zwerin's "Jazz-colored" tributes.

Having traveled the country to work with dozens of the finest musicians, singers and dancers across the US, Kenball is joined for CROSSTOWN TRAFFIC by two of his fellow members from the quintet The Candy Shop Boys; 4-time ASCAP Award winner Jesse Elder on piano and Sunnyside recording artist Scott Tixier on violin - and invites a cavalcade of singers to interpret Jimi's finest work, including Shelly Watson, Michael Cunio, Sophia Urista, Franny Fluffer, Anita Cookie and Rum House favorite Broadway Brassy. Jonny Porkpie serves as host.

CROSSTOWN TRAFFIC begins at 9:30pm on Monday, November 28, at 9:30pm. There is no cover, but arrive early as seating is limited. It is the fourth event in the The Bespoke Music Series, which focuses on the work of a different musician or genre each month.Previous editions have featured Tom Waits, David Bowie, and Elvis Costello. The next edition, led by JC Hopkins, is scheduled forDecember 19 and will focus on the work of "The Quiet Beatle" George Harrison.
