Franklin School for the Performing Arts Offers Complimentary Group Classes

The Franklin School for the Performing Arts (FSPA) invites students ages 3-18 to try a complimentary group class at the school, located at 38 Main Street in Franklin, from now through June 20. FSPA offers group classes in voice; instrumental ensembles; all disciplines and levels of dance, including ballet, tap, jazz, modern, hip hop and boys' dance; acting; and musical theater, as well as private music lessons.

FSPA will also hold an Open House on June 16th from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m., during the Franklin Downtown Partnership's Strawberry Stroll. Electric Youth, the international touring ensemble trained at FSPA, will give a free open rehearsal performance in the FSPA recital hall from 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.

The School offers a new program of one-week camps for the school's summer session. The menu of performing arts camps included Camp GLEE, Rock and Jazz instrumental camps, Dance Camps, Voice Camps, Dance, Acting and Musical Theater Camps and a Creative Kids Camp for young children.

In addition to In addition to the one-week camps, FSPA will conduct an eight-week session of weekly classes in the Music and Dance departments. The Drama Department offers the school's annual SummerStage musical theater program featuring an all-student, full-length production of Beauty and the Beast on August 11& 12, 2011.

Founded in 1985, FSPA brings all performing arts disciplines together under one roof, offering Music, Dance and Drama training to both students interested in serious study and those who enjoy the arts for recreation.
