Federal Prism's Dave Sitek and Jeff Bowers today announced that they w ill be releasing new tracks on a regular basis via SoundCloud prior to making them available via traditional retail. This marks the first time a record label has committed their entire roster to this sort of release strategy.

In conjunction with the release of new material, Federal Prism will simultaneously make track stems available for each song, allowing fans and emerging producers the ability to listen to and remix the songs before they become available via traditional retail. Dave Sitek will periodically handpick noteworthy remixes for hosting on a SoundCloud profile curated by Federal Prism. Sitek and the corresponding Federal Prism artist will also choose at least one standout remix to be released properly through the label itself.

"Federal Prism stands by the notion that SoundCloud represents one of the most organic and well executed platforms for artists and listeners to interact. This is especially true for all of us who are serious about the creation and sustainability of music. In our minds, this goes beyond marketing or even a sales strategy... to the basic and inspiring impetus of music making," said Sitek.

"The goal here is to allow listeners to participate fully in the creative and marketing process, in many cases prior to the commercial release," said Bowers. "SoundCloud gives us an opportunity to break albums and singles with a completely new engagement strategy. Young producers and fans will have access to new music before it's proper release, but more importantly they will have a unique opportunity to reinvent the track and interact directly with the producer and artist while doing so."

Fans can expect brand new tracks to debut exclusively on SoundClound beginning tomorrow, July 30th from Federal Prism artists TV on the Radio, Oh Land, Chuck Inglish featuring Sir Michael Rocks, Cerebral Ballzy, CSS, Asher Roth, and Telepathe.

In the coming year Federal Prism will release music from Dave Sitek as well as Cerebal Ballzy, CSS, Daniel Higgs, Freddie Gibbs, Genuflex, Holly Miranda, Kelis, who Sitek is currently in the studio producing two albums, Maximum Balloon, Oh Land, Priscilla Ahn, Scarlett Johansson, Stardeath and the White Dwarves, Tearist, TV On The Radio, and more.

Stay tuned as new music and stems are revealed in the coming weeks.
