Deal Casino's French New Wave Video for FRENCH BLONDE

Deal Casino, the Asbury Park 4-piece recently praised by Stereogum, New Noise, and Paste, just unveiled the French New Wave-inspired music video for single "French Blonde," up now on Billboard. After emerging in 2013, the band has thrived in the Asbury indie scene, selling out local venues House of Independents and the Stone Pony. Now Deal Casino is about to head out on their first full US tour.

Opening with footage of singer Joe Parella getting a real tattoo of the words "French Blonde", the video presents an intimate, almost claustrophobic one-on-one. Shot entirely in black and white, the video shows Joe's English vocalizations appearing as French subtitles, doubling down on the song's themes of confusion and the miscommunication in the modern world. "French Blonde" is a thumping rock song played on effects-warped acoustic guitars, with lyrics that communicate pain and turmoil via a fancy cocktail metaphor, and a video that puts the band's lead singer in a stark and lonely spotlight.

Deal Casino consists of band members Joe Parella, Joe Cowell, Jon Rodney, and Chris Donofrio. The band resides in Asbury Park, New Jersey and draws inspiration from artists like Led Zeppelin, Neil Young, The Band and Fleetwood Mac. After a series of EPs, Deal Casino released their self-titled LP in 2017. The band releases their next LP, LLC, in November 2018.
