Americana Trailblazer ROBERT EARL KEEN Coming to Pawling, NY 7/19

By:
His live shows are legendary. He's an explosive entertainer with a razor sharp wit. He's one of the top-drawing, authentic singer-songwriters of our time. Americana music pioneer ROBERT EARL KEEN performs at Daryl's House Club in Pawling, NY on July 19.

Robert Earl Keen established himself as one of the most interesting, literate and thoughtful singer/songwriters in the Americana genre. Recently voted Texas Country's No. 1 Live Act by the Houston Press, he remains the genre's keeper of the flame. He has been inducted into the Texas Heritage Songwriters Hall of Fame and has written songs for music superstars George Strait, the Dixie Chicks, The Highwaymen, Lyle Lovett, Joe Ely, Nanci Griffith among others.

Robert Earl Keen's latest release Live Dinner Reunion is the 20th anniversary of his much celebrated first 'live' album. More than 5,000 fans came to see him and his band join forces with fellow musicians Lyle Lovett, Joe Ely, Bruce Robison, Cody Canada, Reckless Kelly, Cory Morrow and more, for a night of song and friendship at historic John T. Floore's Country Store in Helotes, TX. The show was the stuff of honky-tonk legend and a night that reminded fans why they love live music. The double-disc album, Live Dinner Reunion, from Dualtone, an Entertainment One company, is now available in stores and on line.

Robert Earl Keen carved out a place in the Americana pantheon alongside musical giants Steve Earle, Gillian and Dave, Patti Griffin, Lyle Lovett and Joe Ely. He and his road-savvy band tour coast-to-coast playing their crowd-pleasing repertoire before sold-out crowds in the most revered of venues. Rolling Stone calls him a "master storyteller," and The New York Times' Jon Pareles writes, "... Mr. Keen is one of the best." Ken Tucker, NPR Pop Music Critic, Fresh Air, writes "...He brings the enthusiastic curiosity of a visitor to his music." Acoustic Guitar Magazine's Mark Kemp says, "He's a storyteller-and that was his entry point for Happy Prisoner." Keen has had the honor of working with music legends Dave Matthews, Bonnie Raitt, Sheryl Crow, Eric Church and Gary Clark Jr., among others. He is a member of the Texas Heritage Songwriters Association Hall of Fame and in 2015 was recognized as the inaugural recipient of BMI's official Troubadour Award that honors songwriters for their endless and outstanding songwriting creativity. As a member of NARAS, Keen participated in the prestigious Grammys On The Hill, where he sang the National Anthem at the opening ceremony and lobbied the U.S. Congress to support musicians' rights, specifically the Fair Pay for Fair Play Act. Keen's 2015 release Happy Prisoner: The Bluegrass Sessions charted as 2015's Top 5 album at Americana Radio and Billboard's 2015 No. 2 album on the Bluegrass Albums chart. Keen is ranked Billboard's No. 2 2015 bluegrass artist of the year. For Robert Earl Keen's 2015 20th anniversary of his much celebrated, iconic hit album, No. 2 Live Dinner, Live Dinner Reunion, more than 5,000 fans came to see him and his band join forces with fellow musicians Lyle Lovett, Joe Ely, Bruce Robison, Cody Canada, Reckless Kelly, Cory Morrow and many more, for a night of song and friendship at Floore's. "Robert Earl Keen's show at Floore's Country Store celebrating the 20th anniversary of the quintessential No. 2 Live Dinner was the stuff of honky-tonk legend. A night that reminded us why we love live music," says Mark McKinney of Floore's Country Store. The double-disc album, Live Dinner Reunion, a Dualtone, an Entertainment One company release, is available in stores and on line.
