The Trinity Irish Dancers jumpstart St. Patrick's Day with fancy footwork, toe-tapping music and intricate costumes at hundreds of public performances throughout Illinois and Wisconsin.

The Trinity Irish Dancers will perform at a variety of Chicago-area venues and events, including locations in city neighborhoods and the suburbs of Arlington Heights, Burr Ridge, Elmhurst, Evanston, Forest Park, Geneva, La Grange, Libertyville, Merrionette Park, Mokena, Naperville, Orland Park, Plainfield, Schaumburg, Wayne, Wheaton, Wheeling, Willow Springs and Willowbrook (click here for an up-to-date list of dates, times and locations). Free shows include:

3/11 Daley Plaza's Under the Picasso 12 noon
3/11 Midway Airport 3 p.m.
3/11 O'Hare Airport 4 p.m.
3/12 Downtown Chicago St. Patrick's Day Parade 12 noon
3/12 The Drake Hotel's Palm Court and Coq d'Or 3:30/4 p.m.
3/17 Tommy Nevins, Evanston and Naperville 11 a.m.
3/17 Chief O'Neill's Pub & Restaurant 6 p.m.
3/20 2011 St. Paddy's 5K Run/Walk 10:45 a.m.

Also on tap is a the Gaelic Storm concert at the House of Blues March 11 at 9 p.m.; the Irish-American Heritage Center's St. Patrick's Festival March 12 at 5 p.m.; the Chicago Bulls pre-game (5:30 p.m.) and half-time (7 p.m.) shows March 15; the Chicago Symphony Orchestra's annual Siamsa na nGael March 16 at 7:30 p.m.; and many more.

Trinity's Outreach Day
On Saturday March 6, Trinity Irish Dancers will hold its third annual St. Patrick's Outreach Day, donating performances to assisted living centers, hospitals and day care centers. Outreach is a vital component of the dancer training, teaching mentoring skills and the value of giving back to the community.

Taste of Trinity registration is open
New students are invited to participate in Trinity's Taste of Trinity program this summer, welcoming boys and girls ages four through 12 who want to discover the basics of Irish dance, learning the proper techniques of movement set to the rhythm of Irish music. Sessions will take place in June, July and August in Chicago on the Northwest Side and in Lakeview, as well as in Elmhurst, Downers Grove, Palatine and Western Springs. Each session concludes with a 15-minute special performance for family and friends. No previous dance experience is necessary. Registration for Taste of Trinity is open; space is limited.
