This Is Forever, a new modern ballet inspired by Mildred Cram's 1935 novella Forever, will receive its television premiere on November 30 and December 2, 2012 in advance of its world premiere production at The Joyce Theatre.

This Is Forever will be broadcast on CUNY-TV on Friday, November 30 at 10am, 3pm and 8:30pm and on Sunday, December 2 at Noon. The world premiere production at The Joyce Theater will run from February 5 through February 10, 2013.

This Is Forever is produced by David De Silva, who conceived and produced the classic 1980 MGM film Fame and the two stage musicals inspired by it, Fame – The Musical and Fame Forever – Talent Springs Eternal. It is composed by Fame composer Steve Margoshes with choreography by Jacqulyn Buglisi for the Buglisi Dance Theatre.

In Chamonix, France, Colin (Jason Jordon) and Julie (So Young An) fall in love but are quickly separated by fate. Vowing to meet again in 27 years, they go their separate ways to experience the joys and pains of growing older. She marries. He becomes engaged. Although they seem content, each is haunted by the memory of Chamonix. Upon their return they revel in the ecstasy of their reunion -- but fate has a different plan. This Is Forever is a romantic tale of first love, lost love and eternal love.

This Is Forever will be performed by So Young An, from the Korea National Ballet, and Jason Jordan, who previously danced with Twyla Tharp, with Marie Zvosec, Brian McGinnis, Stephanie van Dooren, Ari Mayzick, Lauren Jaeger and Michael Fernandez. The music will be performed by the Budapest Symphony Orchestra (Laszlo Kovacs, musical director) with Margoshes on piano. A. Christina Giannini is the costume designer. This is Forever was choreographed at the Gibney Dance Center, The New 42nd Street Studios and filmed at the Baryshnikov Arts Center, NYC.

The television presentation of This Is Forever is produced by De Silva for the Father Fame Foundation. This Is Forever is Buglisi's second commission from De Silva following Born Forever, the ballet based on Fame which was broadcast on CUNY TV in January 2012. Composer Margoshes will play the piano rhapsody live during the production at the Joyce Theatre.
