Minnesota Dance Theatre & School Sets Young Children's Division Session 2 Classes

Minnesota Dance Theatre & School (MDT&S) announced today its Young Children's Division (YCD) Session 2 classes. A joyful introduction to ballet for girls and boys ages 3 1/2 - 7, students explore movement through imagery, music and self-expression. Classes are offered at two locations in Minneapolis and Hopkins.
With a lasting legacy, MDT&S has achieved national recognition as a leading dance institution in the United States. Students inherit knowledge from a renowned faculty, who nurture each child's potential for artistry and self-confidence. Joy and agility are encouraged through training, mentoring and performing experiences furthering their skills and talents. Central to MDT&S's purpose is inspiring and challenging students to achieve their best. Session 2 classes take place weekly from February 2 through May 30, culminating with two performances of the annual Strawberry Festival on May 29-30, 2015. Registrations are now being accepted. A joyful introduction to the world of dance, the young dancer will explore music, movement and storytelling in a fun journey of landmark ballet classics; Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Coppelia, and Loyce Houlton's Nutcracker Fantasy.

PREDANCE
This class introduces rhythms, basic steps and terminology. A stimulating class environment focused on creativity and self-expression with structured progression in movement and group interaction. It is a joyful prelude to formal ballet and contemporary training.
