The 3rd Annual Plein Air Richmond, hosted by Brazier Gallery, brings juried artists from all over the United States to Richmond, VA for one amazing week in June to create paintings of Richmond in support of the Richmond Symphony.

Purchase Awards-pledges to purchase art and gain access to first rights to choose pieces- and Commissions are available for both individuals and businesses.

The Juror for Submissions was B. Eric Rhoads, Publisher of "Plein Air Magazine" and "Fine Art Connoisseur". The Judge of Awards will be Robert A. Johnson, Signature Member of Oil Painters of America and Allied Artists of America; and Life Member of Art Students League of New York.

Plein Air Richmond is hosted by Brazier Gallery and sponsored by Altria, Dominion, McGuire Woods, Amtrak, James River Air Conditioning, KPMG, and BCG Companies.

3rd Annual Plein Air Richmond Schedule

A Week-Long "Paint Out" June 23-26, 2014

Watch the 35 juried plein air painters set up easels all over historic Richmond and create hundreds of paintings. See daily locations listed below. Artists have been encouraged to paint at Maymont any day of the week.

Monday, June 23rd: Downtown and/or Capital Grounds
Tuesday, June 24th: Historic Fan District (Boulevard to Belvedere and Franklin/Monument to

Main St.); Virginia Museum of Fine Art

Wednesday, June 25th: Any of the River Views, such as Agecroft, Bridges, and Pony Pasture

Thursday, June 26th: Church Hill; Shockoe Bottom/Shockoe Slip; Rockett's Landing

"A Pic-Nic Party"

Be the first to view the extraordinary paintings created during Plein Air Richmond during this Preview and Gala "Pic-Nic Party". Tickets are $150 per person and include a $150 coupon to put towards the purchase of a painting. (Only one coupon per painting, please).

"Fast and Fresh"
June 28, 2014 - 9:30-11:30am Carytown

Juried and non-juried artists will start and complete paintings. These "wet" paintings will be available for purchase right off the easels with proceeds benefiting the Richmond Symphony.

Purchase Awards and Commissions

Purchase Awards: $1,000

Purchase awards are pledges from individuals and businesses to purchase art at Plein Air Richmond before it has been created. In return, you will gain first rights to choose the artwork you wish to purchase.

Benefits include:

? Invitation for two to the Plein Air Gala and Preview Party on June 27th , with two $150 coupons

? $1,000 credit towards the purchase of a Plein Air piece

? Name on a Purchase Award ribbon

? Recognition on the Plein Air website and poster

? Access to purchase other Plein Air works before the general public

Commissions: $2,000

Commissions are also available, and work in a similar fashion as Purchase Awards. They pertain to a specific subject agreed upon prior to the artwork being created. Commissioners commit to the purchase of their specific commissioned work.

About the Richmond Symphony

Founded in 1957, the Richmond Symphony is the largest performing arts organization in Central Virginia. The organization includes an orchestra of more than 70 professional musicians, the 150-voice Richmond Symphony Chorus and more than 200 students in the Richmond Symphony Youth Orchestra programs. Each season, more than 250,000 members of the community enjoy concerts, radio broadcasts, and educational outreach programs. The Richmond Symphony is partially funded by the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.

About Brazier Gallery

Brazier has represented nationally acclaimed artists painting in the traditional style for 18 years. The galleries artists are always on display, along with monthly shows with featured artists or themes.

Brazier Gallery is located at 1616 West Main Street in the historic Fan District-an area filled

with galleries, working artists, and restaurants-just blocks from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.

The studio of Loryn Bazier is also located within the building.
