Pretty Yende To Perform With MET Orchestra

By:

Pretty Yende, currently starring at the Met in Gounod's Roméo et Juliette, will perform with the MET Orchestra at Carnegie Hall on June 5, 2018. The concert, directed by Met Music Director Emeritus James Levine, will feature Yende as the soprano soloist in Mozart's Exsultate, jubilate and in Mahler's Symphony No. 4 in G. The latter piece replaces the previously announced Brahms Symphony No. 4 in E Minor.

Yende made her Met debut in 2013 as Countess Adèle in Rossini's Le Comte Ory. Her other performances with the company have included Pamina in Mozart'sDie Zauberflöte, Rosina in Rossini's Il Barbiere di Siviglia, and Elvira in Bellini's I Puritani. Next season, she will sing her first Met performances of both Adina in Donizetti's L'Elisir d'Amore and the title role in Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor.

The other concerts in the 2017-18 MET Orchestra at Carnegie Hall series are a Debussy, Mussorgsky, and Tchaikovsky program conducted by Mirga Gražint?-Tyla and featuring soloist Anita Rachvelishvili (May 18, 2018); and a Mozart and Mahler program conducted by Gianandrea Noseda and featuring soloist James Ehnes (May 30, 2018).
