Photo Flash: 'Unlock'd' at NYMF

By: Sep. 21, 2007

The New York Musical Theatre Festival presents a new musical comedy, Unlock'd, based on the 18th century mock epic poem "The Rape of The Lock by Alexander Pope." Unlock'd is the winner of the 2004 Richard Rodgers Award with a book and lyrics by Sam Carner, music by Derek Gregor, and is directed by Igor Goldin; plus has music direction by David Andrews Rogers and orchestrations by Tony Award winner Bruce Coughlin.

"Classical meets pop in the funny, screwball musical, Unlock'd, set in a world where beauty is everything! In lavish Hampton Court, surrounded by mischievous spirits, feisty young Clarissa fights to win the heart of the Baron from her gorgeous stepsister Belinda. Chaos ensues and teacups shatter when the Baron's geeky brother Edwin enters the fray," explain press notes.

Unlock'd will be performed at TBG Theatre (312 West 36th Street). The remaining performance schedule is as follows: Friday, September 21 at 4:30PM & 8PM; Saturday, September 22 at 1PM; Sunday, September 23 at 8PM; Saturday, September 29 at 1PM; Sunday, September 30 at 1PM.

Individual tickets for Unlock'd are $20 and are available online at www.NYMF.org or by calling 212-352-3101.  NYMF Memberships – securing tickets to multiple NYMF productions and events - are also currently available.  Memberships begin at $60.  For more information, visit www.NYMF.org.
