On behalf of the artists, board and staff of Pacific Symphony, it is my great pleasure to welcome Chapman University's Musco Center for the Arts as a new star in the constellation of Orange County's performing arts organizations and facilities.

Named for its principal benefactors, Marybelle and Sebastian P. Musco, this stunning new facility is expected to take its place among the nation's top university-based performing arts centers - a place where students and faculty will have the opportunity to achieve the highest standard of arts-related education. This will be achieved through hands-on experience of academic productions and through interaction with renowned arts organizations and touring artists whose work will be integrated into the curriculum and made available to the community.

Pacific Symphony is proud to be one of Musco Center's first artistic affiliates -- a program that will bring leading Southern California arts organizations into close proximity with students and faculty while allowing the communities that surround Orange to hear us perform in a nearby, world-class hall. This represents an expansion of Pacific Symphony's ongoing relationship with Chapman University - such as next month's "Interplay: American Visions, American Voices" - that was initiated several years ago in partnership with Daniele Struppa, Chapman's chancellor and president-elect.

Pacific Symphony would like to extend its congratulations to Marybelle and Paul Musco, Julianne and George Argyros, Bette and Wylie Aitken, President of Chapman University James Doti, Musco Center Founding Dean and Artistic Director Bill Hall, and to all of the supporters involved in creating this wonderful facility. We very much look forward to our first performance at the Musco Center during its Community Open House & Arts Festival on April 2.

With new opportunities for all aspects of performing arts, Chapman University is helping to usher in a new era that will transform practical performance education programs and also create new opportunities for artists and audiences.
