Guest conductor Michael Stern will lead the CSO in an outstanding program with selections from three of the finest musical settings of the story of Romeo and Juliet, each filled with the soaring emotions of young, passionate love- Berlioz's Love Scene from Romeo and Juliet, Bernstein's West Side Story Dances, and Prokofiev's ballet music from Romeo and Juliet.

The Columbus Symphony presents Romeo & Juliet at the Ohio Theatre (39 E. State St.) on Friday, February 14, and Saturday, February 15, at 8pm. Tickets start at $25 and can be purchased at the CAPA Ticket Center (39 E. State St.), all Ticketmaster outlets, and www.ticketmaster.com. Conductor Michael Stern is in his eighth season as music director of the Kansas City Symphony, hailed for its remarkable artistic growth and development since his tenure began. He is also the founding artistic director and principal conductor of IRIS Orchestra in Germantown, Tennessee. Other positions include a tenure as the chief conductor of Germany's Saarbrücken Radio Symphony Orchestra (the first American chief conductor in the orchestra's history), Permanent Guest Conductor of the Orchestre National de Lyon in France, and Principal Guest Conductor of the Orchestre National de Lille, France. Stern received his music degree from The Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, and is also a graduate of Harvard University, with a degree in American history.
