The Sacramento Region Performing Arts Alliance has elected Laurie E. Nelson as president of the board. With her leadership, the organization will undergo a three-month review of all available opportunities to preserve the opera and philharmonic for the community, including the possibility of a modified or partial season that would be presented in early 2015.

Nelson says: "We remain firm in our commitment to make this a viable organization and an experience available for generations to come. The organization "will seek fresh ideas from all sectors of our diverse community."

The Sacramento Region Performing Arts Alliance (SRPAA) is the "umbrella" corporation for both the Sacramento Philharmonic and the Sacramento Opera. Through this combined structure, both companies will be able to profit from efficiencies and economies of scale to secure their long-term artistic and financial health.
