Jason C. Tramm to Conduct Ocean Grove's 'Summer Stars' Classical Series Finale, 7/30

Ocean Grove's "Summer Stars" Classical Series will conclude with "Grand Orchestra and the Great Organ" this Thursday, July 30, 2015 at 7:30 PM. Jason C. Tramm conducts critically acclaimed concert organ soloist Gordon Turk and the Summer Stars Festival Orchestra in an extraordinary program showcasing the virtuosity of Gordon Turk and the sound of the Great Auditorium's magnificent Hope Jones Organ in symphonic works by Alexandre Guilmant, Camille Saint-Saëns and Gabriel Faure.

The Ocean Grove Summer Stars Classical Series continues a century long legacy of classical music performance at The Great Auditorium- a stage which has featured legendary conductors and musicians such as Leonard Bernstein, John Phillip Sousa, Enrico Caruso, John McCormack, Rosa Ponselle and Marian Anderson

The concert will reunite long time colleagues Jason Tramm and Gordon Turk in performance of Alexandre Guilmant's "Symphony No. 1", a work they recorded in 2008 for American Public Media's classical music show "Pipe Dreams", broadcasted locally on New York's classical music station WQXR.

In addition to the lush Guilmant symphony the program will include Camille Saint-Saëns' beloved "Symphony No. 3", widely acknowledged as the most famous symphonic composition for orchestra and organ and Gabriel Faure's elegant and serene orchestral piece, "Pavanne."

Gordon Turk, who serves as Artist in Residence at Ocean Grove, graduated from the Curtis Institute of Music, where he studied piano and organ. He also studied with New York composer and organist McNeil Robinson at the Manhattan School of Music in New York City. Turk has played as a solo organist and with orchestra throughout the United States, in concert tours in Japan, and in frequent appearances in Europe including France, the Ukraine and Russia.

For the past nine years noted conductor Jason C. Tramm has held the position of Music Director of the Ocean Grove CMA. Tramm currently serves on the faculty at Seton Hall University, as Assistant Professor and Director of Choral Activities, College of Communication and the Arts. He is principal conductor and Artistic Director of the MidAtlantic Opera. A frequent guest conductor abroad, Tramm has led operatic and symphonic performances in Italy, Romania, Albania and Hungary.
