International Singer N'Kenge Stars with The Chautauqua Symphony

NY Times described N'Kenge as "a classically trained diva that can stretch from Broadway, Pop Soul to Opera." Patrons of Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra will be in for a real treat with an exciting program featuring Bernstein's Classic "I Feel Pretty", Aretha Franklin's "Natural Woman", some fun tunes for the audience can Rock to like "Funkytown" and much much more! N'Kenge is excited to be performing this brand-new program with the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra for the 'Independence Day Pops Celebration' which is led by the newly appointed Principal Pops Conductor of the Columbus Symphony, Stuart Chafetz who is celebrated across the continent.

Known for her "Electrifying" role as Mary Wells in Broadway's MOTOWN: The Musical which she originated, N'Kenge has been actively performing across the globe. Berry Gordy describes N'Kenge as "the most versatile artist I know". Direct from her sold out concerts with the Pittsburgh Symphony and Jacksonville Symphony, Chautauqua has a special place for her. "As a student at both The Juilliard School and Manhattan School Of Music, I always wanted to sing at the acclaimed Chautauqua Music Festival. I also have family there so it will be a real treat and honor to headline the July 4th Concert in that beautiful space."

N'Kenge made her Carnegie Hall debut with The New York Pops Orchestra and has been a soloist with Baltimore Symphony, Cincinnati Symphony, Orchestra of St Luke's among others as well as symphonies throughout Canada, Italy and Israel. Winner of the ASCAP Lieber & Stoller award, Leontyne Price and Lena Horne vocal competitions, N'Kenge was nominated for a Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Leading Actress in 3 Mo'Divas, made her West End, London debut starring in The Genius of Ray Charles and was seen on National TV singing the National Anthem at Madison Square Garden. N'Kenge Stars in the role of Jazz in the Broadway Bound Musical DANGEROUS Helmed by Director/Choreographer Denis Jones. N'Kenge will also star in the upcoming Off-Broadway Musical inspired by the life and music of Legendary Singer/Actress/Dancer Dorothy Dandridge, the first African-American nominated for an Academy Award in the category of "Best Leading Actress" in a major Motion Picture for Carmen Jones.
