The Hartford Wagner Festival made the following announcement about the performance of RING CYCLE, which was to be performed in August:

It is with great sadness that we must announce that the 2014 production of "Das Rheingold" has been postponed until next year due to the vicious and coordinated attacks on the Hartford Wagner Festival by the American Federation of Musicians (AFM) which have forced the resignations of our Music Director and two of our performers with threats of loss of future work.

We continue to support all our local musicians as we have stated from the beginnings of our project and we hope that our patrons will continue to support them as well.

Their ticket policy states that "all ticket sales are final. In the event of cancellation of the event, ticket purchasers will be given the opportunity to donate the price of their ticket as a 501c3 charitable donation to the Festival to help offset expenses, or receive a full refund of the ticket price via check within 30 days of request for refund. Ticket fees are not refundable at any time. Please Note: The HWF Office will be closed from June 20-29 and will re-open on June 30. All requests will be answered after that date."
