Sam and Maggie are off sailing on their honeymoon to the Virgin Islands when they encounter a bad storm that knocks Sam out. When he comes to, they are thirty miles off of Cape Hatteris, with their radio and GPS not working. He has mixed feelings taking a cruise of this magnitude with a new boat and a wife who has never been to sea before-a choice that he regrets when they encounter danger in the form of Queen Anne's Revenge.

In this gripping novel by Thomas Jackson Hawes, readers can follow Sam and Maggie as they are swept back in time to Seventeen Century Bath, the first capital of North Carolina and Blackbeard's stomping grounds. They escape their first skirmish with Blackbeard's nasty crew, but the notorious pirate turns to be more dangerous than they could ever have imagined. After Blackbeard takes his binoculars, Rolex watch, a Bic cigarette lighter and his stash, Sam decides to take matters into his own hands.

Sam has a twelve gauge, nine shot, stainless steel shot gun on board his catamaran, which he feels will level the playing field between him and Blackbeard. Maggie, however, talks him into going to see Spottwood the governor of Virginia and ask him to come down to Bath and run Blackbeard off. At first the Governor turns him down, until Lieutenant Maynard of the British Navy comes along. Will they be able to defeat Blackbeard and will Sam and Maggie be able to return to their own time? Readers can find out in the exciting events of Queen Anne's Revenge.
