One night while lying in bed, a thought like lightning blazed through R.A.S. Ginebra's mind. "My eyes opened in a flash and I saw the title 'Cross of the Buccaneer' that somehow passed in front of my eyes as if I had an ecstasy, and then, words and ideas started to flow in my mind. I quickly got up from bed, went to the computer and started to write nonstop until I typed 25 pages."

The result was his new book, "Cross of the Buccaneer" (published by AuthorHouse).

The book opens on Esteban, a young boy living in Puerto Plata in 1705. Esteban is on top of the world, fully satisfied with his life, until one night when his village is raided by pirates. They conscript him and whisk him away from Puerto Plata and under the command of Captain Corso, a man consumed by the materials he plunders. Through their adventure together, Esteban and Captain Corso learn to face their fears and reach for a second chance at redemption.

"I believe that everyone has some kind of struggles with their lives," says Ginebra. "I believe it will help to focus on identifying the weaknesses of one's life and be able to make a change or reach for another opportunity to make a difference."
