Designed for self-study, each entry has examples arranged into levels consistent with the Common European Framework for Reference for Language (CEFR). A learner can use the book to study Chinese, English or French words gradually to attain the level 4 or the level 6. The book includes vocabulary for both everyday use and the business professional.

About the Author
Hua Zhang's first language is Mandarin. He speaks fluent English, and is passionate about the pedagogy of second languages and inter-cultural exchange between the Orient and the Occident. Zhang received his foreign language degree at Beijing Foreign Studies University in China, and he continued his studies in France in 1984. After earning his doctorate in comparative syntax of Chinese, French and English at EHESS (Paris) in 1991, he stayed in France and taught Chinese and English at the University of Lille, Berlitz School and the Centre de Pratique de Langues Etrangères. Zhang has also published a vocabulary workbook for beginners in Chinese, English and French vocabulary.
