New Guide Shares Insight On Becoming a Safer, More Courteous Driver

According to the National Safety Council, 2016 was the deadliest year on American roads in over a decade. An estimated 4.6 million Americans were injured in an accident, while 40,000 people died in motor vehicle crashes.

Dr. Robert Boxer hopes to stop the steady climb of rising vehicular accidents in 2017. Dr. Boxer has worked with his local community, as well as national driving safety organizations, to help inspire a more cautious and responsible mindset while on the road. Now, he looks to share how you can protect yourself and others while behind the wheel in "Sane Driving In A Mad World: Driving Safety, Courtesy and Responsibility."

"Sane Driving in a Mad World" is a guide that enlightens readers about the importance of road and driver safety. Dr. Boxer tackles various driving challenges, such as road rage, distractions and sharing the road, that will aid both new and experienced drivers.

Dr. Boxer also presents proactive steps that can be taken even when outside of the car. He passes along his experience to shed light on how to pick the safest car, avoid carjacking and provides vehicle maintenance tips.

"Most people don't realize that driving is a full-time job that needs to be taken seriously," Boxer said. "Sane Driving in a Mad World encourages drivers to take responsibility for themselves, their passengers and their car while on the road. If even one person is saved from the safety and courtesy tips presented in my book, then writing it will have been worth it."

Dr. Robert Boxer has always been interested and involved in Driving Safety, and has frequently written on the subject. He retired from medical practice in 2014. He is a native of Kansas City, Missouri and lives with his wife, Marsha, in suburban Chicago, Illinois. They have two adult children, and three grandchildren.
